Museveni tells Otafiire to clarify comments on Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba
Speaking at a routine cabinet meeting, President Museveni asked senior government officials to explain and apologise for any statements that may have misrepresented the CDF.
President Yoweri Museveni has instructed ministers to ensure there is no confusion regarding remarks attributed to his son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF).
Speaking at a routine cabinet meeting, President Museveni asked senior government officials to explain and apologise for any statements that may have misrepresented the CDF.
It is reported that during the meeting, Retired Major General Kahinda Otafiire, Minister of Internal Affairs, and Chris Baryomunsi, Minister for ICT and National Guidance, along with other senior officials, were questioned over comments perceived as critical of Gen. Muhoozi.
The president emphasised that Gen. Muhoozi’s focus has been on business activities rather than military affairs. He warned that Otafiire should speak responsibly and avoid statements that could create unnecessary tension with the CDF.
Museveni instructed Otafiire to submit a written clarification to dispel any misunderstandings and to publicly demonstrate unity within government.
The president also called on all ministers to cooperate with Gen. Muhoozi to advance national interests and ensure stability, urging them not to become entangled in internal conflicts.
