During the meeting, Major General Mamadou commended the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) for their support under the existing military cooperation agreement. He said the training provided by UPDF at specialized, junior, and senior leadership levels has helped FACA address command gaps and rebuild its military capacity.

According to Mamadou, the strengthened capacity of the Central African Armed Forces contributed to a stable security environment that enabled the successful organization of recent elections in the Central African Republic.

The CAR military chief also conveyed greetings from President Faustin-Archange Touadéra and the country’s Ministry of Defence, thanking General Kainerugaba for hosting him and for Uganda’s continued support.

In response, General Kainerugaba welcomed Major General Mamadou and reaffirmed Uganda’s commitment to pan-African cooperation. He assured him that UPDF will continue supporting FACA through capacity-building and training initiatives aimed at strengthening regional security.
